Disaster Relief
Pinnacle Search and Rescue began as Cajun Navy 2016 when an unnamed storm devastated southern Louisiana.
This event would later be called “The Great Flood” it caused massive widespread flooding.
No one was prepared for this flood and there was no warning.
Hundreds of people were trapped in their homes by rising flood waters.
Our first calls for help came from family and friends. Realizing that help was needed on a much larger scale we created the Facebook page Cajun Navy 2016.
This allowed the helpers and those in need of help to communicate.
We were overwhelmed by the needs of so many and the outpouring of assistance, love, and material donations flooding into our area.
Once rescues stopped our organization focused on distributing supplies by working with our local churches.
A year later our members stepped up once again to help the Houston area when Hurricane Harvey caused flooding.
Cajun Navy 2016 sent hundreds of volunteers with boats for rescues.
Again, the Facebook page became a hub for communication.
At that time we were using the Zello app to communicate with our volunteers but had no way to track their location.
We had a team setup at the Costco in Baton Rouge, loading boats, trailers, and trucks with supplies for Texas.
Hundreds of rescues were performed by our volunteers including clearing two nursing homes.
In 2018 we worked with our State Representative to get legislation passed to help groups like ours with resources.
We pride ourselves in working directly with local, state, and federal officials.
In order to build solid trustworthy relationships with officials all our volunteers are background checked, required to have several FEMA certifications, and proper licensing.
Safety for our members and those we serve is of the utmost concern to us.
We are “Ready to Respond” when needed.

We have also assisted with several missing boaters/person cases.
Over the last 3 years we have grown to include many resources; surface drives, airboats, flat bottom boats, jet boats, command unit, trailers, and a FLIR drone.
